The East Village is made for a night out thanks to countless restaurants and cozy bars. Our list is made up of personal favorites including a handful of home style Italian hideaways, and friendly bars where the bartender will, without a doubt, eventually know your name.

Bianca is a tiny gem producing rustic and comforting Italian. Conveniently, the owner also owns the wine bar next door, and will happily come find you when your table is ready.

Perbacco is deeper in the East Village and whips up decadent and indulgent pasta dishes to curb any carb craving.

Supper is a well known homestyle Italian spot from the genius behind Lil Frankies. An added bonus?  Take an entertaining seat at the “chef’s counter” to watch your food be prepared.

One of many Momofuku restaurants in Manhattan, Momofuku Ssam is deliciously heavy on pork and heat.

St. Dymphna’s is the friendly, non-tacky Irish pub you always hope to find. The DJ plays great music and the bartenders will remember you as you return again, and again…

For a more adventurous night, head around the corner to Gin Palace. This new arrival is garnering plenty of attention thanks to its vintage shoe shine seating, and gin and tonic tap.
